Cirrus crash, Mexico

Ivan, Thanks for taking the time to post this. Glad this had a great outcome. By any chance, are you a COPA member?

Ivan, great improvisation using limited resources. I think there's a book/movie deal in your future! If the cartel wants a cut, I'd suggest you give it to them!

BTW, how is your insurance coverage for a crash in Mexico?

Lol

Haha the plane is totally insured both in Mexico and the us and already have the mechanic and everyone myself and the owner talking to them right now my biggest worry is how to talk to the FAA and what protocol is

does the NTSB get involved since it was an N-registered aircraft?

No. It's up to the aviation authorities in Mexico whether or not they request the NTSB for either assistance, or to participate in an observer/advisor status.

The plane because it's iucha. Dangerous area it's almost certain insurance doesn't not is it convo kent for them to pick it up and even Mexican authorities said they are not sure and may just leave it even though it's protocol to go get it but because of where it landed they may not since it's so inaccessible and it's 100% apperant that there was an oil leak during flight

Yeah, it's in a pretty inaccessible area alright, looking at where your plane is located. Heard the same thing here regarding abandoning it in-place.

My guess is that the plane has already been repaired, and modified for low-level, night cargo operations.

@Ivan Gutierrez congrats on a safe outcome for yourself, thanks for the write up. That has to be the best first post ever on JC.

Agree!

See, small world. I keep telling you guys, but NoOoOOOOoooOoOoooo, don't listen to Derg!

Family waiting back in Hermosillo? As for why you were airlifted to there after fueling, post-rescue.
Mike your just showing off now lol yea they were waiting for me there my friends were able to get me Buddyy passes to get back to Phoenix and my mom to get back to fresno because her grandma just passed away this morning. Now just waiting on getting my dad to Phoenix with me now. And I'll finally be home tomorrow!! Haha and of course my luck keeps going because my girlfriend sent me a message saying she was driving my car yesterday after getting me welcome home balloons and hits other car backing up..... Hahaha but honestly this experience was amazing I met new family I never knew I had that's amazing! And met so many nice people here in Mexico, that helped so much, their healthcare here is insanely good.

My glass is more then half full

Just good to know it worked out well, all things considered. Could've gone alot worse.

Thanks for sharing this Ivan. Its not very often, if ever, we get to hear about an experience like this.

Glad to hear that a happy ending, not a good feeling trying to get in touch with a downed plane. We were asked by a United flight to attempt to continue relaying.

Wow what a story! Glad you made it out ok and especially glad you had a plane to sleep in over night. Snakes and pumas lol no thanks.
