Cinque Terre & Pisa, Italy

Pisa has always been one of my favorite layovers not only because it's a fun town but because it's a great launching point for some cool spots all over Italy. I've been to Florence, Lucca, and Siena but the weather this week was perfect for a trip up the coast to Cinque Terre (5 towns). The intention was to take the train on the "hard" part between Monterosso and Vernazza and hike the rest.... well we did the opposite. The hike was a challenge (especially in the heat) but the views were amazing... topped off with a refreshing swim when we got to Manarola (not to mention some really good lasagna)

Great pictures. I went to Cinque Terre last year and had a great time. Hiking was quite tough when it was 90+ degrees outside, but it was nice to take a swim and relax on the beach after I was done.

I love the Cinque Terra. One of my favorite places in the world. I did the full hike there a couple of years ago in early June and it was hot then. We all stripped down to our suits on the way off the trail and left a trail of clothes behind us as we jumped in the ocean. It was awesome. I hope to do it again some day (when I have money)
