Choosing a Electronic e6b

none of them

paper e6B...10 bucks, and faster than any electronic one.

If you are gonna buy one though, we sell 10 times more CX-2 than any other one. I have never used any of them.

All you need is this :sarcasm: :

Kidding! :D

I'd highly recommend that you don't get an electronic E6B. The old-fashioned one is faster.

I use the Jeppesen CR-5. It's much much smaller and lighter than the metal E6B and it's easier to use (because of it being less bulky). I have the smallest 3 3/4" version:

When I first started instrument flights I used a Jepp CR-5 as depicted above but now I just use gauges and my brain. Just curious what would you use it for?

Ditto what Ryan said. The paper ones are much faster doing the in flight stuff. Once you learn how to use them, it's pretty easy. I've raced students with electronic E6-Bs with mine, and I win every damn time. :)

I have not done W&B, performance calculations or preflighted an airplane in over 6 months; that's what students are for :)

You really don't need one for instrument flying, they are more for the VFR CC planning private students have to do. If you are IFR, www.fltplan.com is the way to go. It is more for the turbine airplanes, but you could probably use it in a prop as well. I have not looked at an E6B or CR-3 in a long time. I always liked the CR's though. I also agree that the electronic ones are a waste. The manual ones are faster and cheaper too.
