This role is a Fixed Term Contract (FTC), for a period of up to 21 months.
Boeing Defence UK Ltd (BDUK), has more than 800 employees at 29 locations throughout the United Kingdom supporting Ministry of Defence and U.S. military programmes. Over the past five years, BDUK has consolidated Boeings Defense, Space and Security operations in the UK and now generates Intellectual Property on shore. BDUK also partners with select UK industry to deliver improved operational capability and meet evolving customer needs. Boeing military platforms and sustainment programmes are at the heart of the support Boeing provides to the British Armed Forces, whether in the United Kingdom, in operational theatres, or elsewhere in the world.
We have an opportunity for a Crewman to carry out duties during Chinook flight operations. Conducting delivery, ferry, support, tests flights and functional check flights on production and non-production aircraft.
Assist with Flight Operations coordination and liaise with other organizations involved in flight activities.

- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Periodic support to Boeing Flight Operations at other global Boeing sites as required.[/FONT]

- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Participating in programme planning and support for safety activities.[/FONT]
- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Identify risks, issues and opportunities and support the development of mitigation plans.[/FONT]
- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Support the further development and maintenance of safety process. [/FONT]

Qualifications
[FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Required attributes:[/FONT]
- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Be fully aware of general aviation principles and have detailed experience of flying in the UK. Must possess an EASA or FAA Commercial Flight Engineer License or have been a Qualified UK Service Crewman (or equivalent). Must either be Chinook qualified or have experience on a test squadron. Must be able to pass an EASA, FAA and UK military aviation medical.[/FONT]
- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Able to identify when safety within the flying environment may be compromised and can be relied upon to act decisively to improve aviation safety. [/FONT]
- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]The role will have significant UK MoD and wider Boeing interface and therefore a person who is diplomatic whilst being strong minded is required. [/FONT]
[FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Preferred attributes:[/FONT]
- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]Detailed technical knowledge of the Chinook helicopter, ideally including the Chinook HC6. The candidate would benefit from experience on other rotary / fixed wing aircraft, particularly those manufactured by Boeing. Experience in the maritime role and qualified as an aircrew instructor would also be beneficial.[/FONT]
- [FONT="arial","sans-serif"]The ability to plan work, conduct it and maintain an auditable log. Able to effectively execute and seek opportunities to improve strategies, processes and project plans. Assist with removal of obstacles by identifying where help is needed and coordinating with the appropriate leaders and team members. [/FONT]
