Chick Shoes

So, there are a bunch of threads about guy airline pilot shoes, but what about the chick shoes? Something I can preflight in the rain, walk around the airport, yet look professional. What do you wear?

If any guys out there would ask their co-pilots, or any other chicks would help a girl out.
Cheers!

Globe Slipons =). I have lived on those for the past year...not too good in the rain though lol...(or with a suit or uniform)

Yea, I am down... not sure the company would be though.

I never thought I would, but since I've made the switch to boots, I've been quite happy. They're extremely comfortable, warm and keep my feet dry in the rain.

I wear the Justin 3170 model. I'm not sure if they make a similar version for the ladies, but I've been happy with mine.

How are the boots while sitting? I can see them being great for walking, but is all the leather on the back off the boot still comfortable while sitting?

speaking of boots... why not a pair of cute ankle boots? I bought myself a few new pairs on zappas (since winter shoes were coming to an end).

I've got a pair of black Josef Seibel's that I love. They are slip on loafers, so I wear them when I fly as a passenger - easy to slip off if I'm on a long flight and the feet are beginning to swell, and they make going through the TSA line easier as well.

I agree though with Kristie and Amber. I also have had Rockports and Doc Marten's that were comfy

Sweet! Thanks for all of the responses. I am going to go try some on and make a decision from there. Seems like a loafer/boot of some sort is the consensus.
Cheers,
Rachel

What, a nice pair of pumps aren't good for working the line?

And I had a pair of Jimmy Choos all lined up for the first female pilot to ask for them.:D

I sit for a considerable amount of time and to be honest, I don't notice it. I do wear a thicker athletic sock with them that seems to cover up to my mid-calf or so. These are kind of like cowboy boots, but they look like a dress shoe. I like them quite a bit. Cheechacko (sp?) has a similar pair for those Alaskan winters.

I'll take them.

I have Doc Marten's and several pair of Easy Spirit boots and loafers. The heels are 1 to 2 inches, so not bad for on the ramp, rain, snow, or shine. Really it is about what you are comfortable in. I also have some Donald J Pliners and, alas, Jimmmy Choos.

Do you get to use the crew lines, Kristie? The reason I ask is because everyone who goes through regular screening is required to take off their shoes now.

Yeah, it's stupid, because metal detectors don't pick up explosives, but hey, that's the department of homeland (in)security for you.

As for the Jimmy Choos, you only get them if you promise to fly an entire trip with those on -- including the walk around.

Then it'd be worth the cost just for the laughs I'd get.

I got a heck of a deal on a pair of Via Spiga's at DSW last week. $70! I was damn proud of myself!

I wouldn't wear them with a pilot uniform though......

The best uniform shoes I ever had was a pair of Rockports. Navy blue, flats, slip-ons. It was like not wearing shoes at all. Would have worked great for pilot shoes as long as it wasn't winter in the north. I think I still have those Rockports sitting around somewhere. I ended up wearing them for most of my wedding reception in Chicago. They'd been left in my bag, and my wedding shoes hurt so bad I couldn't keep them on. I went back to my room to leave my shoes, and spotted those uniform shoes in my bag. I figured what the hell, my dress was long, no one would see them and it was better/safer than going barefoot. So yes, I actually wore my uniform shoes to my wedding reception! :D

I had a pair of Lands' End navy blue flats that were pretty darn comfortable too. For "dress" uniform shoes I had a pair of Adrienne Vitadinnis. They were amazing, 3-inch heels and it felt like I wasn't even wearing heels at all. I have a super-cute pair of Ninas that are high on cuteness but suck for comfort & wearability. I'll probably end up eBaying those cause I never ever wear them.

I wore a pair of black leather lace-up boots (I forget what brand now) for winter at Eagle, since even us lowly F/As had to slop around in the glycol on the ramp there. I still have them, they look, like bloody hell now after all the Eagle winters they've been through. One thing about them, they do NOT beep at security. They were my favored traveling shoe until the TSA started making everybody take off their shoes and, well, I don't ever fly anymore anyway!

I switch between a pair of Eastland's and a pair of some kind of shoe I can't remember but makes me look like a lesbian nurse. Anyhow, I got one pair at a crew store in Cinci and another pair at a crew store in Houston. Neither one sets off the metal detector. If you're looking for comfort and airport friendly, try a crew store.

If you're looking for style, get regular pedicures!
