To any of you Chicago based pilots out there, which frequency is generally best to use/less congested to request VFR flight following?

(not ATC)

Sorry for the low quality phone screenshots, but here are some freqs right off of the TAC.

Generally they're all busy. 133.5 is west and sometimes they use that for MDW departures. 120.55 is north.

NO 133.5 isnt sometimes used for KMDW depatures its mostly used for KMDW west depts unless its combined with sector 2 than they MAY use 119.35. but for VFR FF from C90 use the following, From out side 8 nm ORD VOR the ORD 090R to ORD 140R 128.2....from ORD 140R to ORD 220R 119.35... from the ORD 220R to ORD 270R 133.5... from ORD 270R to ORD 090R 120.55. FREQ 119.45 is MDW Radar (Class C) and the freq to use if landing VFR at KMDW but thay also provide limited FF. this will get you in the ball park of who owns what airspace.

How about I just call up on 133.62 or 119.0 during a rush without listening and if the controller doesn't answer in the first 0.3 seconds I just keep calling?? :-)

Just use either 120.55 if north of ORD, or 133.5 if SW of ORD, or 119.35 if south of ORD. If you are on the wrong frequency for your location, we will give you the right one.

If you are above 6,000, there is a very good chance none of those frequencies work, so they'll get you the right frequency to help you out.
