Chesley in snit over truthful book

How do you do that? Nobody said anything?

Yeah, pretty much. I'm the stereotypical cheap pilot.

Found the book. Sat down and read it. What else would those really comfy chairs be used for? If they didn't want you to settle in, they would only put one legged stools throughout the store.

It's the rare that I have time to sit for several hours like that, but on the few occasions I've done it, I've never gotten so much as an odd look from the employees.

Great, cheap entertainment!

They want you to do that....sort of.

They want you to sit down and start reading and get hooked on it so by the time you have to leave, you have to buy it. Most people don't completely finish the book.

I've done that before also. It's been a while though.

If they didn't want me sitting down and reading a book there, I would recommend that they don't put a bunch of chairs around. Or have a coffee shop there as well.

The crew put the plane (big ass airliner) in the river and NOBODY died.
If anybody ever had a right to get big headed, it would be justified with this crew.

I have not seen anything that makes me think they have got the big head at all. I actually think they have handled themselves very well.

I gotta say I was pretty critical of Sully at first. I thought it was pretty big headed to write a book about the event so quickly after it happened.

Then I went out and read the book and its damn good.

The incident aside, he does a great job putting the frustrating aspects of this job into words, but also reminds me why I wanted to do this in the first place.

Seems like a great man that we could all benefit to learn from. Its also a good way for the public to learn what the industry is actually like and how difficult it can be to get in and stay in.
