Checklist reliance

In any case, don't be so naive as to think that you can change your captain or your company's ways. They're more likely to change FOs, if you get my drift. If you can't stand being in the situation as-is, go find yourself another job. One of the things that's most annoying about grads of the big aviation schools is that they often think they were taught the one and only right way, and thus everything else is wrong.

I agree with you, but then again, when you're taught from day one that its supposed to be two people talking during a check list, with the checklist being called for by the PF after first performing the flow. Having been trained that way, I don't think I can be faulted for expecting it to be the same when I first set foot on the flight deck with this guy. Call it the fault of the pilot factories or call it me trying to be TOO professional (is there such thing?). We're Part 91, with no ops manual, no indoc, no company procedures (it's a brand new flight department; we're the ONLY crew members). Like I said earlier, however, it was simply a surprise (and a bit of confusion) to find out that it wasn't the way I had been taught for the past 4 years. I've now realized that its different strokes for different folks, and that I have to adjust to make it work. Since opening this thread, we've flown two more trips and I've done what you guys have suggested and things went a lot more smoothly.
