Shiny Jet Syndrome....working for pathetic wages, but cool with it because it's a shiny new 170.

Just out of curiosity, who do you work for and what do they pay that doesn't consider you an SJS victim?

The other posters are right. I do work for ExpressJet. The pay rates speak for themselves, but we also have outstanding work rules, a good relationship with management and strong union leadership. This is an excellent place to work.
The company's not perfect by any means. I also don't plan on staying there for my career, but should I have to stay there for a while. This is a place I can be comfortable at. I won't make a fortune, but I won't be living on Ramen, either.
I also believe that anything larger than 70 seats belong at mainline carriers for mainline rates. I get sick to my stomach when I here guys begging for and bragging about 190s and CRJ900s at a regional. If any of us want to move onto bigger and better things, say no 70 and 90 seat aircraft. Let mainline operate them. I fly a 50-seat jet. I'm happy with it. I won't cry if the 170 doesn't show up outside the hangar next week. I don't ever want to see one in Continental Express colors. If we all have dreams of flying big iron across the ocean one day, we need to stop Shiny Jet Syndrome.
