Airline pilots are typically paid by the flight hour, and are "guaranteed" a minimum number of pay hours. How does it work in the Part 135/Charter industry?

Usually a base salary and occasionally extra pay per day. Since charter and 135 is "on demand" you cant assume a crew is going to fly x amount of hours a month.

It's divided among straight salary and a base salary with flight / daily rate pay.

I work at a fractional and we are on a salary that is good for xx days a month. Anything beyond that is bonus pay.

Current shop is salary with set rotations. We can volunteer to work additional days for bonus cash.

Old shop was salary up to ten days of work (flying and days away from home, they didn't consider on call was duty). Every day over ten was a bonus rate.

at current shop, it's salary/daily rate. usually 14-18 days per month PBS style bidding

1.5 x hourly rate over 12 HR duty day
3.0 x hourly rate over 14 HR duty day

1.5 x daily rate for overtime days

rumors of 7/7 schedule is being thrown around

Straight Salary with some "good deals" thrown in. Fly part 91 for a concrete contracting company.

Part 91 and salary but they just did us timecards if we go over 40 hours of duty a week for overtime. I think I might get there once a year.

135 charter with daily rate. Good and bad. Days with 1-2 legs are paid the same as 5 leg days.
