Changed my location!

If anybody saw my previous posts you'd have read how I was assigned to go to the Memphis Center when I had instead chosen Atlanta. Well after a slew of phone calls I was able to finally actually have them change my location to where I wanted to go. I had received a few emails from various people about my PEPC invite and my last one was from somebody in the HR office for Aviation careers, so on a feeling I called her and voila, great success!

So anyway my point is, it can be done!

Wow, so you actually changed your location to Atlanta? Thats amazing, I'm referred to Kansas City center pending everything checks out but that isn't my prefer choice. I would like to go either Florida or Texas but don''t know the odds of getting either one. As of now, I think its good to get my foot into he door and see wat happens later on.

badpassport>> not sure why you're so tight-lipped about your "HR contact person". You could potentially be very helpful to me in my current situation...

or, just ignore my messages and flip me the proverbial "cyber bird", that's classy.

You know, I was tightlipped a while back when someone wanted to know my HR contact's info regarding the intitial selection emails. Someone else called me out on it and posted the information anyway, but my opinion is that the HR people have enough to do with the people they are SUPPOSED to be dealing with. IMHO, it's inappropriate for someone to be releasing contact information to folks who technically shouldn't have it.

:yeahthat:

Just forget it.

Apparently I don't know what the intent of this thread was to begin with.

I'm in the EXACT same position as the original poster, so I figured since he chose to broadcast his information and progress, he might be willing to help others in the SAME situation.

Guess it's a big secret, so whatever.

Some people are just plain selfish and unwilling to help others despite having received precious information on this very forum.

I know that I would have never been able to choose my facility, enroll in a PEPC, and get an Academy dates MONTHS before I was supposed to if it wasn't for all the great advice I got on both this website and the older version of ATCCTI.com

This is a list of all the key people at Aviation Careers who I have contacted and who made things happen for me. Folks, do not hesitate to bug the crap out of them. Call them, E-mail them, and call them again. I know I did, and it paid off. Remember to always be polite, respectful but PERSISTENT. In my case, it made a huge difference and enabled me to select my facility and obtain an academy date just a few days after the PEPC. Some people that applied at the same time I did were told that they would have to wait for the next fiscal year to get an Academy date. Those were the ones who didn't call and merely played a passive role in the hiring process. Initiative is the key.

Good luck to all.
