CFI's URGENTLY NEEDED

It does go up, but starting pay is way low. (Please don't think I am trying to justify the low pay.) I think you can top out at $20/hour. Things may have changed, but I doubt it. Back in January 2002 starting pay was $14. Then you got a $2.00 raise for II, and MEI. I can't remember when they dropped it down to $12. I do know that starting pay as of last March was only $12/hour. BTW, Falcon is not a large aviation academy. Its actually a very small school. The instructors do get the added benefit of wearing the monkey suit... (Another major flaw)

As I understand it, pay starts @ $12. $2 increase for every Wings Program that you complete, along with each upgrade to II, or MEI. So, say you do 3 Wings programs, that's an extra $6 hourly wage - so now you're @ $18 dollars. Say you finally become an MEI, so another $2, so $20 hourly now.

I personally think, that. . .pay, CFI pay, will gradually increase over the next few months to a year. All of these academies that cater to international students are going to have to find a way to keep their American instructors to stay just a little bit longer. Pay greater than first year FO @ a regional is one way. Just my opinion, and certainly does not reflect what I think Falcon will do in the future.

The more guys that go to the Regionals, the less instructors. The less instructors, the higher instructor pay will go. The higher instructor pay gets, the more expensive it will be to learn to fly. The more expensive it is to learn to fly, the fewer the number of pilots available for the airlines. The fewer pilots available for the airlines, the higher the pay will have to go.

It's all good. :)

Well, substitute the last part with 'the fewer pilots available for the airlines, the airlines lower standards.' And add a 'wash, rinse, repeat', and it may be a little more accurate.

:)

Still waiting on that to happen. :panic:
