Take her with you!

HAH. Was hard enough to convince her to come with me to SC.

She has left the nest, yet in a way - she hasn't.

Get what I'm saying?

Maybe in 20 years or so, when being an Ex-Pat has even more benefits than flying for a US based heavy Boeing or Airbus operator. :)

Well, I applied but since I'm right at their minimums I'm sure my resume will get glossed over. They posted this on climbto350 also and probably got hundreds of resumes. Would love to hear about any other teach abroad opportunities (abroad meaning non-US) though.

I guess Doug is still on the Deans List and gets special job notices from ERAU.

Read about it below!

George H. Ebbs named as chief executive officer of DAE University

19th July, 2006
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) today announced the appointment of Dr George H. Ebbs, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DAE University, the academic aerospace institution that will open this October.

Dr. Ebbs (63), retired as President of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), in Florida last year. During his seven years in the post, he helped expand the institution into the biggest aviation university in the world with internationally recognized curricula in engineering, aviation sciences and aviation business administration.

Ebbs will take up his new role in August and become part of DAE’s leadership team.

Bro Ras Al Khaima? I've been there, it ain't pretty!

I'd agree that one my one drive through of RAK I wasn't very impressed. But look beyond the main highway and there are some very nice new developments in progress. It is also an easy trip across the border to Oman and the Musandam peninsula which is very nice. A short 90 minute drive to Dubai on the new highway. They've got beaches, mountains, and sand dunes. All in all, not a bad place and better than Bakersfield or Roswell.

Hi everybody

That does sound like a deal for somebody to gain some time converting JAA from FAA , stay current while making some money and fly a descent airplane..Thats my case since i have no US work authorization:panic:

However does anybody know if they cover expenses while during the UAE conversion? Or anything more about the selection Proccess>>??,,,Going all the way to UAE to fail a hard test or intereview wouldnt be very pleasant :nana2::banghead:

I am sending my resume anyways! But will apreciatte any help...

Thanks
Pretty Cool Site !..Good Job to the webmaster :yeahthat:

Has anyone ever lived or worked in UAE, if so if you could contact me and let me know the basics, that would be awesome.

I applied for this job yesterday and the whole process took me about 2 hours. They want work history, references, 50 word essay's etc.. Hopefully they will call me so I can get some info. I will post anything when I fond out..

Sound much more exciting than flying regional junk for poverty wages. At least somebody has the sense to pay for quality. They could probably get some SJS'ers from over here to do it for free.:laff:

Had the phone interview yesterday!! They want a minimum of 500TT 250 DG and there firm on that. I am about 50 hours short and they told me to reapply. However, they r hiring only 11 people for November, when they open. Then so many instructors per month as business increases. The interview consists of 3 phone interviews and then a face to face in New York. They want a 2 year contract and the VLJ's will not be online for another 14 months. So basically u will be flying the SR22. Doesnt sound like a bad deal but the recruiter also told me that initally they want guys with 121 Turbine experience. I don't know anyone who would give up flying a jet to go flight instruct. But if u have the time, apply its worth a shot. It is 72, 000 a year tax free, but Dubai is more expensive than New York, so I am not sure how much money u could save!!!
