CFIs Needed at TransPac Aviation Academy, Phoenix, AZ

When you do the Pipeline program you are hired by AMERICAN EAGLE. It's literally the EXACT same interview as the pilots. HR, tech, sim, fingerprints, pee test, background checks, etc... You are essentially a contract CFI, in which you go to TransPac or US Aviation (i think) in Texas. Your paycheck comes from American Eagle, NOT TransPac. Just some insight. My GF is doing the interview coming up, and gets to keep her seniority from AE. So, she'll get 3rd+ year pay as a first year FO. :)
Our union is telling us something different. Does she have any paper work to back up the bold part? Can you email it to me?

Will Transpac hire with just a CFI and let you work on your II on off days (what few you have?)

Paperwork, I'm sure she does. She talked to the chief pilot of AE at KORD, and a recruiter from AE on the pilot side. This was 3 weeks ago, and this is the airlines... who knows...

I would love to get a copy of the paper work. Also can you find out the name of the CP she talked to?

Talked to a friend of mine who works at AE Corporate who talked to the manager for pilot recruitment regarding this program.

You get an AE seniority number upon getting hired. (Min CFI / CFII). Flight privileges and insurance through AE from the start (or 90 day wait period for insurance, etc). AE actually pays your salary, not Transpac or US Aviation. Apparently salaried at 28K/year.

That's all I have. I'm very seriously looking at this route right now.

It must depend on the school because I saw a presentation about the same pipeline program from an AE recruiter at a different Part 141 school. He specifically said that seniority only counted for vacation time and sick pay or something like that, but you would still be subject to first year FO pay when you eventually went on to Eagle. Granted this was a different flight school, he never said anything about being on Eagle's payroll while Instructing. Sounds like a great way for Transpac to get free labor.

Well, remember... my girlfriend works for Eagle, and the ONLY 2 reasons she was going to go is because 1.) she can keep her current 2 year seniority w/AE, and 2.) flight hours. But, really #1 was the deciding factor. If she didn't get #1, she wouldn't of even thought of doing this.

I checked she doesn't get to keep her seniority for pay or biding. You are getting bad info.

Working at TP is one of the best CFI jobs available. Once you get FT, the pay is Salary (currently set at appx. $27000/yr) You will build time fast, and make some lasting connections with the other instructors. Not a bad gig overall.

I was a full time CFI at Pan Am back in 2003-2005 when we had the Korean students. I made a respectable $30K + benefits as a salaried CFI. I actually enjoyed that job more than regional FO.

They're pretty set on the candidate having the CFII already - It depends on your qualifications and attitude. No harm in trying. They're always friendly and easy to talk to.

That would have been too good to be true :/ That 3rd year F/O salary due to seniority would have been stellar but the reason 1st year F/O pays 35% less than Yr 2 is because the airline is unofficialy sharing their cost of training you for the type rating with you.

Hello guys,

I have filled in my application a few days ago. Do you know how long do they take to process your application and offer an interview if they like your profile? Do they contact you to notify if your application was unsuccessful?

Thank you!
