Just as the post reads...We're a busy, part 141 school that deals primarily with international students based out of KRVS. Pay starts at $20/hr and free housing is available for the first 30 days of employment if needed (great for those relocating). If anyone is interested, PM me your resume and I'll personally walk it into the Chief Instructor for you. Also, feel free to PM me with any questions you may have about the job/area.

Bump...we had someone turn in his notice to move on to another job today. The job is likely yours if you want it...CFI's are hard to come by these days.

Looks a good airport (Riverside-Jones) - plenty of traffic, no surprise to anyone who has flown in PHX or S. FL

I see ATP are on the field also - trust the Will Rogers FSDO are nice & friendly :)

Alex.

Hard to imagine they still get CFI's paying $20.00/hr. When I worked there 7 years ago they were paying that AND including free housing the entire duration.

I liked my time there though!

PS: Do I still hold the record of 152 hours (in the actual aircraft) in one month? N*** had me beat in billable but not in aircraft hours.

Free housing sounds a good deal. That's a lot of hours - what aircraft were you flying?

I did not start at $20, but I also showed up with some prior experience both instructing and a few jobs outside the training environment, so I was able to negotiate a slightly higher starting rate.

Do you know a guy who worked there back in 2008ish (and still works there from time to time) with the initials G.M.? If so, he was telling me about someone who worked there around the same time who held that record. Maybe he was talking about you?

You would think. It's kind of hit or miss, though. Apparently the guy in charge of that FSDO doesn't do a lot to encourage retention so there is a LOT of turnover. The last time I was there to renew my CFI I think guy said they only had 2 or 3 full time ASIs in the office for GA.

Good Lord I think I did 120 a few times back in 08 and that sucked. Where was it, Ardmore that had the bbq place? Man I flew as much I could with those cross country guys down there.

Ardmore had BBQ?
Yeah, it was the Blue Pig or something like that. Around 2010 or 2011ish that started winding it done. Really awkward hours like 11:45-3:15, always out of stuck on menu items, stuff like that. Eventually they shut down the airport location and opened up a shop over by the Applebee's just off of I-35. I don't think that stayed open very long.

Any other X-C locations favored by the school?

PS (Glass cockpit or steam gauge?)

Bump again. I'm probably leaving next month for Ameriflight and another one of the instructors is leaving at the end of this month, so they're getting pretty desperate for instructors. It's a pretty decent instructing gig with lots of potential to get and stay busy and fly 100+ hours per month. I started there last August with 900 hours and now have around 1700 hours and there were a couple instructors who flew a little more than me on average every month.
