So i just finished my CFII and am currently working on my CFI. i went to schedule my lasergrade CFI written exam, and the lady at the testing center did not know which test to give me.. lol. I guess there are two different cfi written exams.. one with 100 questions, and one with 25 questions. The one with 25 questions is Certified Flight Instructor -added rating. is this what im suppose to take?

You need the 100 question one. The added rating test is for going for an additional rating not including "instrument airplane". An example would be a CFI with Airplane on their certificate that wants to get their helicopter rating on their CFI certificate. The 25 page test just makes it so you don't have to go over stuff that you already demonstrated you know twice.

Instruments have different rules which cause the need for a completely separate 50 question test.

An example would be a CFI with Single-engine Land on their certificate that wants to get their single engine sea rating on their CFI certificate. The 25 page test just makes it so you don't have to go over stuff twice such as airspace.

Uhh, what? CFI certificates are either single engine or multi engine. There are no seaplane CFI ratings, just single or multi. Not sure where you got your info on that one.
