CFI self study question

I am working my way through the "Airplane Flying Handbook" and have a question on a few chapters it seems I do not need to spend much time on for the CFI. Do I really need to study the multi-engine, tailwheel, turboprop and jet chapters?

For the CFI I think you are correct. BUT - Don't forget to remember the endorsement requirements and currency requirements for Tailwheel.

Good luck with the studying!

I had one question on my FIA written about multi engine planes. Cant say that reading the other turbo prop and jet engine chapters are going to do you any good for CFI.

You'll need to know the endorsement information.

You shouldn't need to know turboprop, jet or multi-engine information in detail, though a basic understanding would prove useful.

Unless you're tailwheel endorsed, you won't need to know details there, either. If, however, you have a tailwheel endorsement, be prepared to answer extensive questions about tailwheel, as you'll be qualified to give the endorsement, yourself.

Maybe you need to know it, maybe you don't. If I were you I'd start studying that stuff now unless all you ever want to fly is a 172. It's easier to learn things when you're geared up for studying than it is to comeback and learn it later.

If I were you I'd learn it and if you don't use it for a while thats ok. When the time comes that you do need it all you'll be doing is refreshing your memory, not reinventing the wheel.

Thanks for the input. Your answers are just what I suspected. I will study it somewhat, but will not devote a huge amount of time to know it inside and out.
