CFI School length?

4 out of 5 great lakes prefer Michigan.
Originally I thought it was 2 weeks, but am hearing it's 3. Anyone know for sure?

All depends. First Week is straight solid ground schools mixed with a few flights for checkride prep.

Second week is checkride week, so depending on when you get scheduled will determine the length.

For example I was numero uno for CFI ride.

Week 1: Ground school and few flights
Week 2: CFI initial, CFII, CFI SE which bled into the beginning of week 3 since I had to drive to PHX after Vegas, since they overbooked the classes. It will depend on when your check ride dates are.

Good luck.

Thanks, gonna have to see if we can do my single engine stuff back here in Chicago.

Is ATP still hiring instructors? I read on another thread a while back they have more then they need. Can anyone can share what's going on with hiring.

When I finished back in August I was told that since they didn't have enough spots for CFI graduates of the fast track program that they weren't hiring anyone that did the self paced such as myself. Not sure if it's changed in the last few months though as all my former instructors have since left ATP.

If you go through their program, there's zero reason to go work for them... You can make more and get more hours elsewhere, and you get 100 ME from their program. Their instructors have to work very long days, 7 days a week, with no benefits and as an "independent contractor" but with the threat of firing always around the corner... Out of like 14 in my ATP CFI class only 3 went to work for ATP, and of them, only 1 is still there (and he's trying to bail..)
