CFI School for Slow Pacer's

From what I gather CFI School for 90 dayer's is a two week course. Taking two weeks off is a bit tough with my current job. I was under the impression it was one week for CFI school for Slow Pacers and then another week back at the home base (GKY/Arlington in my case). Any word from those that have done the self paced program? I got my PPL in 3 months. Started the career program Aug 29 and am up for my multi-check ride next Tuesday. I think at my pace I will be done in March finishing the whole program in 6 months or so.
 
Well.. Spira is half right...

Basically what will happen is you will go to Jax, Atl or Vegas for CFI school, there you will take your inital.. After your inital is complete, you could come back to GKY and take the rest of your rides with Weems..

However, I have seen guys get to CFI school and do the whole program there... I'm sure if you expressed this issue to ATP, they would work something out..
 
They actually just started doin CFI school here in PHX too, but they ship you out to Vegas for the checkrides, because apparently the PHX FSDO is "out to get" ATP applicants... as in, they're looking to bust students here because it's such a fast-paced program. I'm new here, so I'm not 100% sure what the deal is there, but that's the word on the street.
 
I've heard some rumors about FSDO's being out to get ATPer's..

I don't think they are true, or legitimately founded, as ATP puts out great candidates just like basically any other flight school, but I think, and know of 1 for a fact, several ATP instructors who crashed birds within months (less than 6) of leaving the ATP ACP to instruct elsewhere...
 
I believe it may not be that ATC is out to get ATP students, it may be that with a very busy airport like that, an 8 hour shift can get end ugly. Last time I flew an ATC was very short with pilots and seemed like he just got beat up... he was that mad.


...or they could just be out to get 'em... jk
