CFI renewal

I'm a long-time proponent of the Gleim program but this year decided to try American Flyers (the one time fee). Other than that you can't do it faster than they let you (Gleim prompts about doing it too fast but lets you; AF doesn't allow you to answer the questions until the appropriate study period has passed), it was well-done and the materials were pretty good. They were also very fast about processing the renewal paperwork.

MidlifeFlyere - I'm assuing Gleim was fast about processing the paperwork or was it AF?

Both were pretty quick on processing the paperwork. I'm happy with both programs but the cost of AF on a recurring basis is hard to beat.

Bump .... American Flyers keeps logging me off. Any advice on how to avoid this? I'm using Chrome on a mac if that matters.

I don't know what the secret is. I used Chrome on a pc and it would run the full length of time. If i was on the computer I just made sure to move a page every half hour or so. I would try a different browser if you have one? I had a friend who used a mac but I am not sure what browser. He was able to run the full length of time too.

Just used King, bought it in the AM and had the temp emailed to me by noon. It might be more than AF, but no sitting around waiting for content or time limits. Take the quiz and move on, iPad friendly. Counts for TSA recurrent as well.

I really liked the Gleim, but in the end I went the economic route and did the American Flyers lifetime renewal.

Update - American Flyers has changed their program a bit. Two of the modules have 100 minute timers, but the rest of the modules have no timer at all. The process was very painless overall.

I've heard nothing but great things about American Flyers. Have not had to renew mine yet but I will use that when I do.
