CFI positions open in Atwater, CA

WOW, this is a load of...

Depressing city, crappy airplanes, management doesn't care about you, cp and acp's barely know the actual reg's. the only reason that stays in business is because Linda makes a killing on all of her checkrides, and knows that these kids aren't ever going to fly in the states, so she'll pass them just to make money.

She once passed a student on his Instrument checkride, on a vor approach, that continued straight and level after the faf, when he was supposed to decend, when asked what he was doing? he said "i don't know"...and continued to fly into the abyss.

If your dying for flying, and feel like getting violated or losing your license feel free to apply.

C'mon Moonwolf. I'd bet we were working there together, as bad as it may have been, no one lost their license or was violated.

Since the yoons owe me 5 grand, Im going to say this...To hell with this place! I popped in the last spring when i had a run that started in KMCE , and had the assistant chief SS (namne with held for obvious reasons) told me that they had cut his pay and it was getting worse! (Compared to when i had left before). You want a better job, talk to Keith Amaro @ Califronia Airways in Hayward, he is getting desperate for CFI's.

This thread has just been hijacked.

If these people owe you 5 g's, I suggest you contact the U.S. Dept. of Labor. 5 g's is usually about the limit of small claims court as well. That really sucks to hear though, It's not like you didn't shell out a small fortune for flight training already, it's a slap in the face for hard working people.

C'mon now, exaggerate much?

Hey busta MacRuffsta...I think your picture is still up on their website even though you left like 2 years ago!

They don't list all of their requirements. That is deceitful. This place is definitely shady. It's Crazy!!!

I never got a picture somehow, which is good because i don't like being associated with that place. ok fine, nobody got violated, but plenty of 409 rides.

I think you're referring to 709 rides, and I don't recall this happening either. I believe you'd get a 709 ride for something you did or did not do as an instructor. Sierra being Sierra would not result in a 709 ride, I think.

The place was less than ideal, let's just leave it there. Otherwise I have to call you on exaggerated hatred, and this makes it sound like I'm standing up for Sierra, which I most definitely am not!!

Btw, who are you guys? I guess we worked together and I don't know who you are.

They probably don't list their requirements because there are none. Sierra has never been picky since they have trouble getting people to stay. At least this is how it used to be. Things have changed, but I doubt they've changed that much.

I know of at least one 709.

I just looked at the instructor pics... how current is that??? I can't believe some people have been there that long!?!?!

I know of one also. Happened before I was there and I was there for two+ years. Not bad all things considered. That list went up probably in late 2008 or early 2009. I doubt anyone pictured except the chiefs are still there.

Oh yes, Sierradise as it was called.....

I remember actually seeing the body of the kid on the ground just after the accident occurred. As sad as the whole event was, the whole thing pretty much infuriated me... such stupidity could have been completely avoided.

Bottom line....just about everywhere is hiring right now so choose wisely. I can't imagine anything will really change until the Yoons are no longer associated with the operation. Even with supposed new changes there are way too many of us who went there expecting one thing and quickly discovered another. There is a reason they have an add on CTO350 every three days.

It's petty and unprofessional to bad mouth a former employer and the Instructors who were there when I was (2+ years) were for the most part a great bunch of conscientious professionals who made it work. At least a new hire doesn't have to sit there dumbfounded by Rashid math where he tells you he is cutting pay and adding hrs but you'll make more money.

I could have listed a number of verifiable truths about this place but realized you can lead a horse to water and thats about it. All I can say is I wouldnt get in one of their Alari now if my life depended upon it. Not saying MX is shady or anything...just how long can you scrounge parts for a disposable aircraft before you're using stuff they made in a machine shop south of the border?

If you choose Sierra to further your career I hope you're the type willing to really stand up when something isn't right/illegal. They love the CFI who goes along and doesn't make waves.

The reason they keep the incorrect data up on the website is to sell SAA to the Chinese. My picture is there as well.

I had the displeasure of stopping at Kmer last year...should have gone 5 more miles to KMCE where people speak English. The problem with having a flight school at Atwater is that the runway is way too short and there not enough ramp space. Very depressing place.
Huh?! You must mean Turlock! LOL! Castle airport's runway is long enough to land the Space Shuttle!!

As for everyone else laughing at the original post...no comment! ;)
