CFI Positions in Tucson

I just got word that the flight school I work for In Tucson is looking for about 20 new CFI's in the next 8-10 weeks. Good company. Build 60-100 hours a month. Believe the web site is www.IATAWeb.com. Please PM me if you have any questions. Thanks

Don't they have an 'unoffical' 2 year commitment? Or maybe that was the other foreign traning academy I'm thinking off.

Not to be rude about it, (and I may get flamed for it) but their students do tend to provide some comic relief on the practice area frequencies.

I hear it from a number of flight schools when I fly in AZ. Whether the practice area northeast of RYN for ATA (ATTI?), or the ATCA guys from Goodyear, or PanAm, or Westwind, or Sawyer, ERAU , or any number of the FBOs flying in the practice areas. Only thing that makes it a little more difficult is the language barrier sometimes. ATCA Germans, the Belgium (Sabena?) guys from SDL, and (I believe) Japan studs at ATTI, were some of the more difficult to hear. With AZ having so many flight schools, it's inevitable, I suppose.

No committment. Good place to build hours. And yes sometimes the student english provides comic relief. All around it is a good company to work for. If you can stand the arizona summers. Not a lot to do, but we always find places and time to drink beer! That golden nectar of life that sustains us in these difficult years of our careers.

Actually...ATTI is the parent company of the part 61 school I attended at TUS.
AFTA or Adventure Flight Training of Arizona they went belly up with $8k of my money....bastards!

Yeah, IATA is a good company to work for. I was around for a whole week. Joerg was an ass, the supposed students didnt show at the time they found it time to let go the two guys with minimal time (Me and one other guy). Don (now gone) was the Operations Manager, he was a good guy I dont think he is there anymore. Bob was the direcor of safety, neat old guy who flew 747's. The pay was terrible to fly a bunch of beat down warriors. $500 a month salary, and 10 dollars per flight/ground hour. All to fly with some chinese kid's with american names. I luckily got my old job back in Prescott, then came to california where I have flown a bunch since. Good luck if you go there
 
I'm not saying it is perfect, but it is a good stable growing company with a lot of flight hours. The pay has changed to salary plus pay per flight hour. Sorry about your experience, but a lot of the instructors that have been here a long time say things have gotten a lot better.
 
I WORKED THERE!..... I'll give you the scoop... I worked there from December 04 through Feb 05... it IS a place to gain a lot of flight hours... but if they dont like you, you get booted... You get paid 250 base plus 12 dollars per flight hours for the first 6 months.... they dont pay you for ground... you fly about 4-5 hours a day on avg.... the only problem is that all the students are from China and you are going to have A LOT of problems communicating.... when I was there, there was about 4 "incidents" and 1 TOTALLED aircraft.... Ryan field has a lot of patience with these guys' communication.... Anyway... its not a bad place to work at, but Tucson was too boring for me and I got a better job elsewhere.... If any of you have any q's, let me know
