CFI Jobs in FL?

I know this is the 'Jobs Available' forum and so I'm probably doing this backwards. But since it can't hurt to ask, does anyone know of any CFI jobs in Florida?

I know someone's got to be hiring down there and I'm researching it now, but I figured I might get a 'heads-up' here at JC.

I'm working on my CFII and am low-time (probably 10 hrs. dual given) freelancing. I'll be moving to FL in a couple of months...
Thanks in advance.

I tried (it said 'no matches.') but it's possible I was doing something wrong.
Thanks Kristie.

I am in the same boat. I am graduating in May and i haven't decided if I want to stay in FL or move back to NY. I can tell you to stay away from DAB. This area is saturated with flight instructors. Places will hire you even epic aviation will pay $30 hour for an instructor but you just have to find your own students.

Sunstate Aviation at KISM
Air Orlando at KORL

these are two that I know about.... FL is a big state... if you are planning a move (ie. have housing set up) you may want to narrow down the area you are inquiring about.

For example Orlando jobs are not going to help you if you live in panama city. *$.02*

Check out the west coast. The east coast is saturated with flight schools, but I have met several chief instructors on the west coast that needed CFIs. That was over a year ago, in Sarasota, Tampa, Venice, and Punta Gorda.

Not to sound crude, but their are 1000's of FBO's in Florida. I am sure someone is hiring. Look here, aopa.org, ilsapproach.com, climbto350, jsfirm, google.com, or go through beapilot.com . They have flight schools. They get 30% of the CFI applicants in the country at their FSDO. The schools are there and so are the jobs, you just have to hunt! Good luck.

Don't worry about your low time - for the 2 out of 3 jobs I've gotten as a CFI no one cared about the dual given I had on my resume.

Another thing to do - go to www.private2atp.com and do a search in the area you're going to be living. It'll return all the flight schools in its database (which is fairly complete) in that area within a radius you specify. Pretty cool, its what I did to land my first 2 jobs - then visit their web sites and/or call and find out. It's always a good idea to drop in and personally hand in a resume as well.

Air Orlando, I would agree with the last two, if you can get a foot in the door, push it open.
