CFI Job (higher than usual mins)

Funny thing, I JUST spoke to one of the captains from ANA and he said that we're gonna get REAL busy the next couple of years because there are a lot of Jap. pilots retiring. We're gonna almost double our student load by next year.... We just hired 5 new instructors the past couple of weeks.

It's a really great job for many reasons. I suggest you at least check it out when you have the times. I dont think there's a TT requirement, but at least 250 as a CFI. However, I think they just hired someone w/200 dual (think they were getting desperate for new instructors)... Other than that, they're pretty strict about the mins.

Don't forget to add my name to the application ;-)... Me wants the finder fee.
 
I'll PM you when I get closer to applying, which will probably be next feb. I wonder if instructors ever get hired at ANA?

Also, isn't Bakersfield kind of "rural" for CA? How much do apartments run?
 
Not sure if any instructors have ever been hired by ANA, but I doubt it. I've heard instructors have been hired by JAL though.

Bakersfield is growing fast, so living cost is going up every day. I think apartments run between 500 (kinda ugly) to 800/850 (real nice). A couple of the instructors live together in 2 a bedroom apt, that's a good idea because it usually cuts the cost to almost half.

As for moi, my parents moved up here a couple years ago.... rent= $0
