Ok, im still out shopping for a place to get my CFI (quickly, inexpensively)...

I have some free lodging with friends in San Diego and in SLC...

anyone know any good deals?

also still gotta get that taildragging ticket too...

Yeeup, join Plus One Flyers flying club and use one of their CFIs. We have very low rates on 152s and 172s (not that long ago the 152s were $58 wet). I think now they are $78.

Also, Carlsbad's Palomar Airport has 3 flight schools that are pretty well respected. It's a 35 minute drive north of downtown San Diego.

Plus you can visit me!

yeah i have free lodging a couple blocks from carlsbad... hmm jace, are you I-CFI? ;)

someone said you have to do initial cfi in a complex tho?

Pinnacle Aviation Academy in Carlsbad...I used to work for them just before I took the Picto gig. The instructors are really good, though it might cost you a bit more than Plus One...however the planes are in very good condition and fairly new.

Only the complex stuff has to be done in a complex. We have an examiner that we use that lets the applicant split the ride up. Some is done in a Citabria, and some is done in a 182RG.
