CFI Ground School

Any suggestions on who to take CFI ground school with? Lovelace is filling up pretty fast and i don't know if i will be able to get in because i am a few lessons behind template. Bjerke and Skramstad still look wide open. any input would be helpful. Thanks.

Skramstad is by far the hardest of the three, I hear. But he'll make you a better instructor. My roomate took him and all their test questions were in essay format.

I would disagree that Skramstad is the hardest, I think there is more work for Lovelace's class. I would try for Lovelace, Bjerke, Skramstad - in that order.

I had Bjerke for 102. Not many complaints about her. I'm gonna take CFI with her this summer so I can stare at her ass instead of looking at the powerpoints.

yup, really laid back too. He's got what a lot of instructors here dont, experience flying outside UND.

UND does not condone the employment of instructors who have flying experience outside UND.

oh bull$hit. One of the best instructors UND ever had was from outside of UND, I learned a lot just being around the guy. The problem is UND takes care of its own, as it should be, and the hiring process is kept quiet. Unless you know to look at the jobs page, someone from bum fuch Cali wouldn't know UND is hiring instructors.

If you guys really think Bjerke knows her stuff, you are really out in left field, there is a reason she is teaching ground school and not flight.

I had Skrammy for 414, and the class was a cake walk, buddies had Lovelace, same story, the big diff, was that Skrammy taught more part 61 stuff, and Lovelace teaches more part 141 stuff. Kitko knows his stuff too, but I instructed with him, never took a class from him.

The key to getting through 414 easily is getting all of your lesson plans done in the first week and then just refining them as you come to them in class.

No one knows how to make a lesson plan in the first week of 414.

are you farking kidding me? Read ahead a bit, it's not rocket science.

No its not rocket science but its not a cake walk either. You claim to have all your lesson plans by the first week?

I had Bjerke a couple years ago. I'll be nice....she tries hard. I woulda rather had Skrammy or Lovelace. I don't think I learned a whole lot in her class. But then, she's nice, and her tests weren't too hard as compared to Lovelace. Then again, its been a couple years so, maybe she's gotten better. She's teaching ground school because she wants to teach ground school, so hopefully as time goes, she'll be good. I just remember her being really boring and always, "stating the obvious."
