Myrtle Beach Academy of Aviation Myrtle Beach, South Carolina:
CFI Fixed-wing: Full-time or Part-time position- Great pay and benefits!

Myrtle Beach Academy of Aviation has immediate openings for Certified Flight Instructors who want to fly (a lot)! Our students are motivated and so is our team! This position is for a Certified Flight Instructor/ Fixed-Wing, providing primary to advanced training to our enrolled students and flying club members under both FAR Part 61 and Part 141. We operate a fleet of 25 aircraft, including Cessna 172s, Piper Arrow, A36 Bonanza, Beechcraft Barons, Navajo Chieftain, Waco YMF-5 open cockpit biplane, Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters. Additionally, we have 3 Redbird flight simulators with multiple single and multi-engine aircraft configurations available in the full motion FMX flight simulator. Dual-rated pilots may benefit from enjoying the opportunity to fly and instruct in both airplanes and helicopters-if they desire. With a company-owned fleet of such diverse aircraft types, numerous options exist for our employees to experience different aircraft types and missions, both on and off-duty. We also offer numerous FREE in-house training opportunities for our employees/pilots to earn additional ratings and certificates. Looking to finally earn a rotorcraft add-on rating or get your A&P certificate; and not have to pay for it? Then this would be a fantastic opportunity for you! You’ll also have the opportunity available to rapidly build tons of free flight time (quality single/multi-engine & rotorcraft) within other divisions of our company, like our Part 135 charter operation and our multiple aerial tour operations. And since the Myrtle Beach area, Murrells Inlet, Pawley’s Island (and other nearby communities) are all resort towns, you will enjoy the added-value benefit that most pilots can only dream of…an AMAZING work/life balance and a schedule that doesn’t require you to live 90% of your life at the airport, waiting for a potential student to sign up. We maintain a highly active admissions department that keeps new students coming in the door, so you will have the opportunity to fill your chosen schedule quickly upon starting with our team. And getting paid to live and work in such a desirable coastal area that many people spend a lot of money to visit once or twice a year on vacation is the pinnacle of any pilots’ wish list. A surprisingly very low cost of living and countless locals discounts around town for year-round residents, means your well earned dollars go a lot farther here than they do in an average (non-resort type) city. With Myrtle Beach Academy of Aviation’s extremely flexible work schedule, our pilots/instructors have the luxury of flying as little or as much as they wish. And unlike most flight schools, WE ACTUALLY PAY YOUR FULL HOURLY FLIGHT RATE FOR ALL GROUND INSTRUCTION! No more working countless hours for free on the ground, just for the opportunity to get paid for only the time you spent in the air. For those highly-motivated pilots wanting to fill up their logbook and bank account, you’re welcome to fly (and be paid for it) as much as you desire. 100+ hours a month is easily attainable, but not required. And you have the option to amend your flight duty agreement in the future and move about freely within other operations of our parent company if you ever want a change of scenery or just try your hand at something new; like transitioning easily into our Part 135 charter operations, flying tours in a Waco biplane or learning how to paint aircraft or fly helicopters. There’s always something new and exciting going on here and every day is an adventure in itself. Add on the benefits of having access to all of the resources of Myrtle Beach Academy of Aviation’s sister companies with unlimited potential for growth within the organization and you’ve got the dream job for any aviator! And so much more! We are always happy to mentor new CFI’s so don’t hesitate to submit a resume, regardless of your experience level. Once qualified to operate as Part 135 PIC, our CFI’s are offered positions (Full or Part-time) with our Part 135 charter operation, so you’ve got a guaranteed career job waiting for you within the same umbrella company. Starting pay is $25.00 to $30.00 USD per hour depending on your licenses, ratings and experience.
