CFI checkride tomorrow!!

Congrats!!! :rawk:

I still remember almost every minute of my CFI checkride (almost 7 years ago- damn!). What I remember most was driving home afterwards more relaxed and relieved than I had been in a long time. I even remember what CD I had playing in my truck on the way home.

Enjoy instructing! I wish I could dust mine off and do some while I'm furloughed, but no schools nearby need anyone right now. Do you plan to get your CFII and MEI?

Congrats on passing your CFI Checkride. :rawk: Hopefully you can wrap up the II and/or MEI before the end of the year. That would be awesome if you could.

If I can secure a job (anywhere in the US that is) with just my CFI thats what Ill do. If that doesn't happen in a few weeks I plan on continuing through my CFII. I feel that the II will be more advantageous in this economy than going through the MEI. I probably wouldn't use it for a while and I just want to start instructing. Plus it would be great to find a school which gives a discount to its workers for Multi time.

I would definitely try to at least get your CFII. I think it will open up a lot more doors and it's pretty easy to add. There's really no reason it should take any longer than about 5 hours in the airplane if you're already instrument proficient. Most of it is book stuff that you can study and prepare for on your own time. Find a CFII buddy to fly with who can sign you off, schedule your checkride for a week away, and bang it out. You won't regret it, but I think you would regret not doing it.

Just my $.02. Good luck with the job hunt- it's rough out there! :)

Congrats on your BIG pass! That is a huge accomplishment and will be the most difficult checkride you'll ever take.

Good luck with the CFII...I'm working on mine now.

Chris
