I like flying cessnas opposed to pipers. However, One of the things I hate about cessnas is that i can't see the runway when turning final from my base leg.

Not much difference; besides low wings looking more like a "real" airplane.
Just remember that you are sitting on top of the wings, so the wings get into ground effect before you do, as opposed to high wings when you (the pilot) get closer to the ground before you notice ground effect on the wings.
Also, you'll love the fact that you can see the runway when turning final.
I'm a fan of the low wings.
