Cessna for sale 15k White Air

They're selling Tweety?!

The STARTING bid is 15K. It'll go for a lot more than that since it's at 100 hours SMOH.

The aircraft did not sell despite the really good price for the aircraft. The Total Time was average for a trainer/timebuilder, but competition on Ebay probably led to the plane not selling. I would have considered it but it is too far for me to collect and and really dont feel like flying a cross country to Florida in that thing.

Was there a reserve on it? If the reserve was close to that 21K Vref price then that may be the problem.

In the last two weeks there have been at least 7 150/152s in that price range, IFR certified, one which included a Garmin 496, all with 500 or more hours to go to MOH.

I've really been sorely tempted by one of these little guys, because on an aircraft for primary training/time building and selling I could likely recoup a lot of the investment. But it's all the other CRAP (avionics, insurance, maintenance) that goes with owning an airplane that scares the heebie-jeebies out of me.

Here's an idea, though....buy the plane, lease it back to White Air on trade for training, y'know? Hmmm.

Wow, good to see I'm not the only person thinking of taking the leap and doing this. I have considered buying an old twin, flying it 'til its almost out of life, or 'til I reach ATP mins, then putting "her" back on the market..

A good buddy of mine, and I are looking into this to split the cost, just as a way to build some good multi, and actually enjoy flying.

Yeah, it is a good idea if you plan to fly the airplane alot to keep the cost down. Also, you could consider a lease-back to a flight school or FBO and that will decrease your cost. Also if you can find a STC fuel aircraft that might save you some money on gas. Another option to consider would be check ebay and spend to money to go check out the airplane and inspect it ... you could save thousand that way instead of going retail for it.
