Cessna crashes into Herndon, VA (Dulles) Apartment Building

So was he on a photo mission? I do a lot of photo work and sometimes its stuff no one else wants to do (in the middle of a 1500ft antennae farm) but I've never come close to losing control of my airplane. Loss of control is the only reason I see for hitting a building. I mean, there was a street right there.

Y'know, thinking about how a lot of apartment buildings are so cheaply built, I can't help but wonder if the crash would have been fatal had he hit a more solidly-built house or office building. Apartments (even in the Jesus-this-place-is-expensive-suburbs-of-NoVA) are generally built within a hair's breadth of "acceptable" construction material and strength. Which means that the structure probably gave just enough to stop the momentum without killing them.

I'm no structural engineer, and I will most freely admit to speculating out of my arse here. Just wondering aloud, is all.
