Centrifical vs Centrifugal Force

“Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live — at least a while. And, dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our threads!! Pardon my intrusion. Is centripetal force not the tangential component of angular velocity?

Trying to remember dynamics ... think it's the inward tangential component of angular acceleration (velocity changing per time)?
F = ma, not mV

centripetal force (the radial component of angular momentum) can be approximated by deriving the adjacent component of theta,

TAN@ = OPP@/ADJ@ >>>ADJ@TAN@ = OPP@>>>ADJ@ = OPP@/TAN@

Vangular = Delta@/Delta t (Rad/s)

assuming the tangential component of velocity is known. in a straight and level, un accelerated turn, centrifugal force should equal the radial component of angular momentum. Acceleration in the turn (steady state) increases both centrifugal and the radial component of angular momentum until the loading limit of the wing is reached and an accelerated stall occurs on wing low.

that's how I read the tea leaves in this ancient misery anyway

In easy-to-understand pilot-speak:

In an airplane in turning flight, centripetal force is the lateral component of lift causing the airplane to turn. It is always "points" towards the center of the turn.

Centrifugal force is sensation of being pressed into your seat (G forces).

Centripetal force actually exists, whereas centrifugal force only exists where there is centripetal force, so it is sometimes referred to as a "fictitious force".

Fix

Kill it! Kill it with fire!

In my Comm groundschool one of our head CFI's told us that centrifical force does not exist and that is is centrifugal force. I thought he was nuts for coming up with that crap but google may be proving him right. What do ya'll think?
He is correct.

My physics professor in college told me that I should be angered and upset whenever someone says centrifical force....because it isn't a real thing.

So here I am. Angered and cringing...

That is all.
