I was wondering if anyone has experience with CWU and their aviation program. Im looking at either doing their flight or Managment program. Currently in the USAF and when I get out in 2 years im looking at moving back to the NW. I think im leaning towards the management program and just doing flight on the side. Anyones insight is appreciated.

I spoke with a student in this program about two weeks ago at our local glider club. She seems very happy with the professors and the overall program, she is graduating this Summer. I'll see if she has time to join JetCareers and could give you more information.

Im a grad of CWU aviation. I went through the management program with flying on the side. It was definitely challenging not being in the ground school classes as well as the increased work load but I feel that my degree/education is much more well rounded than the standard 141 program they run. the "flight officer" program just seemed really one-dimensional. I would recommend the same route, provided you are able to keep up with all the extra studying

I am a senior in the CWU flight program and am graduating this spring. I went through their Professional Pilot degree, formerly the Flight Officer degree, but it is changing due to CWU seeking AABI accreditation. I thoroughly enjoyed the program and feel it has given me a really good well rounded knowledge about aviation along with a lot of other stuff you might not get at a local FBO. I feel that the knowledge and insight you get in to the industry and general knowledge is very very good. Not to mention now that I am searching for CFI jobs lots of FBOs say they always seem to have good luck with Central grads. PM me if you have any more questions.

I did the other option and went to Big Bend Community College for the flight portion and did the Moses Lake CWU campus. The flight instructors are amazing at BBCC and it was a seamless transfer. Not to mention the cost of instruction and the airplanes is many times cheaper. I finished with ASEL, CMEL, CFI, CFII for $23,000. The same exact time at CWU was somewhere near $45,000. Other things that were nice about living in MWH was that cost of living was cheaper and the basic classes were cheaper as well.
