Cell providers 2025…what we using?

Hows YVR? I have a bunch of YYZ trips next month, didn't even realize we did the couve. Also, I do Verizon as well. Mostly 1-2 bars on this island, intermittent "welcome to Canada" texts if I'm on the west side near my house. Also fun, just got an end of 3 day turn removed from an upcoming trip for illegality (don't know why?) and CA credit adjusted -2+ hrs to account. Wondering what they might be trying to pull on me? Waiting with baited breath for skeds to answer why I was illegal, and why my pay was apparently adjusted (even if illegal, which PBS should preclude, not even talking contractual protections)
I only turned through there but as far as putting around in a guppy that was one of my favorite trips. SFO-SEA-YVR-SEA-SFO. I realize 4 legs sounds like some peoples very personal version of hell, but on a good weather day on the west coast I thought it was a great time. Each dude/dudette got 2 good chances for some hand flown visual approach action, the 2 SFO legs are the ideal length to get to cruise, eat, brief, and start back down, it blocked darn near 7 hours if you did the whole thing especially because there was always flow somewhere in there for a little extra gravy. I often tacked it on to the end of a stretch of days on and about 50%+ of the time was able to give away the last leg to another commuter and so I’d finish up halfway home already. YVR is an easy airport. The only annoying part was coming in from YVR to the S gates and inevitably departing from N gates, and you were usually late by that point because of aforesaid flow.

Don't get TMobile. It's super tempting to use the Wifi and I hear of a certain Bogus Captain at SFO who will get you fired for using it.

I’ve turned to Mexico twice and been to YVR 3-4 times in the last year, international really isn’t that big a deal to me. No real problems with Verizon, just that they keep jacking up the price but I’m sure everyone else is doing the same thing.

Nobody using any of the pay as you go providers?
I'm with cricket. No real issues. I have 1 line for 30 bucks a month with 5gigs of data. The only downside I've run into is international trips outside of Mexico and Canada.

Obamaphone

FR though switched from Verizon after 20 years to T-Mobile last year. 2/3 of the price, airplane WiFi, some TV perks as well.

I switched from Verizon to USmobile. Two cell phones, one Ipad. $59 / month total. Unlimited everything. Same towers, same speed, better customer service. Way cheaper.

For international, I've been really happy with the eSims from the Mobimatter app. A 365-day data plan for 50GB or so, for $50. I travel a lot and haven't used that much international data in year. And they work in the US, so if I'm getting bad coverage from my carrier (t-mobile), I can switch to that ) usually Verizon.

Sounds good. Do you just download the app and it does all the work?
