I'm curious how many of those >.20 BAC DUI pilots manage to come back. Even an idiot like myself would have to highly question that persons decision making.

A significant number. The FAA usually requires they have a full substance abuse evaluation and enroll in the HIMS program to be monitored for at least 3 years with frequent random tests for drugs/alcohol, see the HIMS AME every 6 months and the psychiatrist once a year.
