Hey I've been there, that looks like Big River Lakes at the entrance to Lake Clarke Pass
That supervan is friggin' awesome, I saw one on wheels take off empty at Merrill on a really cold day, and it rotated so nose high I thought that they left a control lock in or something. That thing's a beast!
Meh, Fun and all. But if you have to go IFR, I would MUCH rather be flying behind a single PT6 than a single garrett.
At tear down time, the PT6 will look like a swiss watch, and the garrett will look like an experiment in controlled fusion gone wrong.
Time with both engines, and I give the nod to the slow but steady.
Which begs the question: How come they don't stick a -67 in the Van?
BLASPHEMY! You know they put those things in backwards, right?
I have time with both, too. About 1400 hours with Garrets, nary a hiccup. About 700 hours with PT6s, and I had one completely self-destruct. Different strokes, I guess.
