Car rental deals for pilots?

"Never tell me the odds!"
Who offers the best rates to the travel industry for car rentals? I was on a trip recently and another pilot used something his company/union had setup for deals at a couple of car rental places. Roughly the same car was half the price I paid from Priceline but was only available to employees of his company.

I rent cars fairly frequently and have just decided to always use Hertz through their website with my company discount. Price is usually a couple more dollars a day than something like priceline, but can usually get a few days a year free. Makes it worth it to me.

Costco. Well worth the membership fee if you rent often. Second closest discount is probably USAA if you are eligible

If you have USAA for your car insurance you should consider Enterprise regularly for your rentals.

USAA covers you for the insurance stuff that the rental cars try and sell you. When you're on business, it's not such a big deal since most business insurance policies cover the car rental, but for your personal stuff, it's nice knowing that you're totally covered on the rental car thing. I've only ever seen this deal with USAA/Enterprise, so check into it.

If you are an AOPA member they have several discount codes available.

I try to almost always rent from Hertz, Presidents Club is awesome, in select locations you get an email of where your car is no need to stand at a desk. and they are the only rental car company that I HAVEN'T had a problem with. And I used to rent around 50 cars a year at my last gig.

I've had more homeboy hook ups dealing with the actual customer agent. Free upgrades etc...

Got pigeon-holed in Costa Rica. Ended up getting full coverage, and had more fun than if I didn't.

Story time!!
I returned it with more dents and scratches than when I picked it up.

It was a 3.5 cylinder Suzuki 4wd thingy. Took it off road, on the beach. You know the reflector bendable lane separators? They still bend at 60km/h.
