Captain Citation 550

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per Year
Location: Hickory, NC 28601
Primary Aircraft: Citation 550 Bravo Job Description:
Need 2 Captains immediately for Citation II 135 Ops in Charlotte, NC area. No previous 135 experience required. Pay range dependent on Experience and if qualified as Check Airman or other function.
Minimum Requirements:
No Accidents or Incidents.

I was really surprised that they didn't include any flight time minimums. For a 550 driver, I'd think they would want at least 3,000 TT. I sent them my resume yesterday. This would be a dream job for me, so hopefully I'll hear back from them.

SIAFU,

Have you ever been to Hickory, NC? 65-85 there is not by any means lowering the bar. And let us not forget it is a Citation II, not a X. 85k is going to be on the high end for ANYPLACE in the US as a capt. on that type of aircraft.

Believe me, I'd love to see all pilots making 100,000+, including this job. (And my job) But factoring in cost of living for Hickory which is minimal. And the amount of flying per year you'd do which I can't imagine would be over 350-450hrs for 135 in a CII. I think 80-90 is very reasonable for this plane and in this location to start, who knows, I'm sure they have annual raises.

Anyone familiar with the operator? I'm wondering if I can work it out to fill some down time with some contract (pt) work. I'd like to use my type a little bit before deciding whether or not to pull the trigger on recurrent.

I thought you flew Vans for Airnet...how'd you get a Slowtation type??? Or do I want to ask?

Got it before I came here. Long story...some day I'll tell ya over sudsy fermented beverages. It involves the flight school I used to own.

Obviously any flying outside airnet I'd want to get approved ahead of time. I'm just thinking that with me flying 40-60 hrs a month (YAY!) and being off 6 days at a time, I may have some spare time to burn.

Cool. I was just curious. First round's on me when we meet up (one of these years). I do miss the Airnet flying, but not the Minneapolis or Ohio winters!!!

Shweet. Where you at these days?

Winter definitely sucks but if I can keep it between 40-60 hrs/month, I can deal. Seriously....best job ever. Last month I logged 34.9 hours. It's like a part time-full time gig.

In Jacksonville, FL, flying Lear 60's around for a charter company. I did like floating there. That was my first year there...as a floater, then 9 months on 607. Had a blast, now having a good time with the charter gig. The BS that goes along with it I can live without, but I like the trips mostly, and the airplane is a blast to fly.

Good luck and stay safe out there. Just remember, if you're heavy in the Van, look at your numbers and temps before using 31L at MDW. You use up pretty much all of it.

/me = jealous

I'd say that's quite an improvement over Ohio....no Buckeye games down there though.

Ain't that the truth. Amazing how quickly the landing distance increases with ice on the airplane too when you start landing partial flaps. I'm not good enough to be tossing off 1"/minute and make the Y off of 31L.....they don't understand that I'm "special needs" when in the van.

607's a joy to fly M-F, even Saturday is alright....it's Sunday that blows. 4 hour legs against the bulkhead in the van suck dingleberries.

I think you're thinking the Jo on that one. The Van isn't limited to 1"/minute. Keep redline until 2 miles out, power idle, 1 notch of flaps, 2nd notch at 150, 3rd at 125 (or whatever those speeds were again) and make the Y every time. I don't think I ever didn't make Y!!

Yeah, I'd have to look again but I think my shortest leg there was 3.5, and longest was right around 5 hours if memory serves correctly. Bring lunch and enjoy the views (and AM radio).

I was talking about ice (1"/min) ;)

Ahhh, gotcha now. Is the grumpy MDW tower guy still there? Look through the old threads and I put up one of our JC'ers getting laughed at by him. Good times. Where ya at Mnixon?;)
The one that's always telling me "you can't go direct...go re-file"?

I wonder if they require a Citation type rating for this job. It could be an unwritten requirement. I sent my resume a few days ago. Still haven't heard anything back.
