Cape Air Hiring

I know several people that have come from Cape. All are wonderful people, talented airmen and I respect Cape a lot for that.

I'm on the "list" to fly for them I guess? They seem like nice little company with great people!

Not trying to be negative or anything but I think being a dispatcher for them wouldn't be that great of a job in all honesty. Super boring when all you do is work one ATR on like 20 minute hops around Guam all day in VFR weather. It is something like PGUM-XXXX-PGUM-YYYY-PGUM-XXXX-PGUM-YYYY-PGUM. All the 135 pilots do their own flight plans via fltplan.com

IIRC from the interview thingy I had, the 121 side is fenced off and they only serve two airports out of PGUM. So this position wouldn't even be able to flight follow the 135 stuff and I think only the pilots are put into CASS.

Good luck to those who might be interested.

I interviewed with them on the phone a couple years ago. Everyone starts off on the 135 side. Then once an opening is available, you will transition to the 121 side, and they send you to PGUM for a couple of weeks (company paid). the 121 side Dispatchers are in CASS, and it is a pretty decent operation. Definitely something I would consider towards the end of my career.

Well, there's only 2 other cities served by the ATR, which are PGRO and PGSN.

121 dispatching starts from the same place for everyone, but the workload is a bit less than say, RAH, who pump out 90 releases a shift.

121 island flying can actually bring some challenges, it's not always VFR. :)

It's a great airline, with great people from all aspects of this aviation industry, and there are a mix of backgrounds that work in SOC, from major airlines to other small commuters and people who have been at Cape Air from year 1.

If anyone is interested in the position or would like more information PM me.
