Flying for Cape Air into ACK? This used to happen all the time to us (not cape air but charter). We would cancel and go in VFR. The departure end would always be fogged up along the coastline but the arrival end was always clear (or enough time to beat the fog bank). I don't about legality but the way I always understood is as long as the ATIS is recorded as VFR conditions there is nothing that would appear to be a violation.
