Looks like FO was the pilot flying until the bird strike then the captn took over. Great story. The FO was attempting to restart the engines as he was going over emergency procedures. This is CRM at its best.

What's so puzzling?

This thread is riddled with people screaming/complaining that the FO is not getting the same recognition as the Captain, and placing the blame on the idiotic press for the error.

In an attempt to show that this isn't a new phenomenon, I asked if anyone knew Al Haynes' FO.

When someone posted his name, I was just contrasting which one of them was invited to speak at our very own NJC from a previous famous airline incident....the Captain.

My point is 'who cares if the Captain gets the glory and nobody knows who the FO is'. That's just life. That's how things work in the spotlight.

The reason why everybody knows the name of Al Haynes, is because of the way over the years, he has been talking about the Sioux City accident & the need for CRM.

So, your example is not really a good one....

This US Airways incident is the only case where the FO, the wingman, the crewmate hasn't received proper credit....since, apparently, all of the examples I provided "aren't accurate".

Here on earth, the big wig always gets the credit good or bad. (when it's bad they usually look for another fall guy first). WHO CARES if the flight crew wasn't the focus or even mentioned in most reports. Whatever happened to self appreciation for a job well done?

The Captain probably should get most of the glory, but certainly not all of it. After all, it's he who gets most of the blame when things don't turn out so well.
