Can I have a Name Change??

Like everyone else already said, congratulations! This is truly motivating for most of us here on JC. Please keep us updated on your training if you can. I am curious to know what training at a major is like these days.

Chris, I think you're the first JC member to move up to a major in quite some time. Maybe ever. Congratz.

I'm thinking of bidding the 747-400 in ANC, next year. Depends on what the reserve lines end up looking like. I would mind having a place up there, working one out of two weeks on reserve, and having two weeks off in Spokane. We'll see.

Bring the Geronimo, we'll go out to the lake, do some fishing, have a grand ole time!!

Exciting times aound the house. We've been going through all our stuff sorting through the things actually worth bringing. We're going to have a huge garage sale next weekend and get rid of a bunch of stuff that's been sitting in boxes since our move from SLC!!

Two weeks is coming pretty soon! We may have buyers for our house already and I've got a place to stay in Tacoma all lined up for the three months of training! It's all coming together!

Congratulations:rawk: Glad to see a person migrate northward. Are the kids looking forward to moving here to Alaska?

Oh, and do you know what model 737 you are on?

Yes, the kids are very excited. Almost as excited as their grandparents!!

The -200C is a dwindling fleet, so they're not putting any more newhires in it. I'll be flying the 400/700/800/900. I talked to a buddy of mine who is just finishing up his line training- he flew the 800, 900 and 400 all in his first trip! Probably similar to me now going between the CRJ200 and 700; only, the 400 is a bit different than the others. It'll be interesting!

Congrats!!! I'm bummed I won't get to fly with you before you leave. PM me directions to the yard sale and what time you'll be having it.

Sorry to ask so many questions but did you have a choice between bases in SEA or ANC. did they just give you ANC or you could have choosen something else?

Happy to answer them. No base choices are made available when accepting a class. The base position opening are not exactly made available until the first day of class. BUT the ANC carrot was dangled in front of me to accept the right-at-two-weeks Oct. 2 class. I was told that six out of eight in the class will be ANC based. No gaurantee after that. They do in-class seniority by age, so at 35 I would think I'd be in the top half.

Thanks a lot best of luck to you!

Chris, Congratulations! It was a pleasure meeting you at my interview at SkyWest. You are a class act and deserve everything good that happens for you. Good luck and enjoy the new digs! (my senority goes up one too! yippee!!)

SWEET! Congrats Chris. I finally witnessed a JCer go from regional to major :) . Whose next??

Wow...thats a change you once said that after your upgrade class you won't bid off the 75/76 for a very long time if ever because the class was tedious with all the info one had to learn in a short time. But congrads if you bid and get the 744!

:)
