The problem is you sound like you are defending them. If all you are saying is they suck, and stay away, then my apologies. It does not come across as that. All I'm saying is they have a bad reputation, which you have verified.

You survived, and should be shouting from mountaintops to stay away, as I did with my former charter company. The owner finally augered in, and the company shut down, but he took a few unfortunate souls with him in a helo accident.

I flew freight in Caravans, Ho's, and Barrons along time ago. I did not, nor would I ever have, worked for PW. Period.
 
That's all I was trying to imply and I also never called your friend a liar or said he was wrong did you even read what I wrote? I said it's entirely possible perhaps before I was there.

I'm saying they suck no doubt I was simply my experience I can't make a personal decision for someone I read all these forums and still went. Was it crappy? Sure it was but it gave me flight time. I'm not promoting them or saying they are a place you want to be at and I'm not trying to come off as a flight time • but I needed something desperately I don't come from a wealthy family. I needed a job any job to start using the ratings I paid so much money for and they hired me when no one else would and got me into a position to have options to move on that's all I'm getting at. I was in the military and I did a whole lot harder more horrible things with them but if someone wants to join the service they will. I'm not comparing pw to military service I'm just using it as an example that's all.

You really just like talking crap don't you? Damn dude you're like a little girl grow up. Why does everyone have such a bad attitude here? I simply answered someone's question about working there and recent experience.

That's cute. All I was saying is don't sound like you are endorsing their behavior, just because they gave you a job when low time. Call a spade a spade, when it's deserved. That was my only point, and you continued...

The military card I thought was very special. This is not a combat zone.

You didn't read what I posted. So basically your saying its okay for the company to question your judgement and push you to fly with a legitimate and dangerous open write up? not just a mx ferry, but revenue flights as well. Again, I've never worked anywhere like that. I find it insulting to the profession that a fellow pilot would defend a place that does things like that.

In numerous separate situations my friend that was there told me the CEO/DO whoever would put people on blast in emails sent out to everyone for questioning the dispatcher's or scheduler's judgement, or if they didn't want to fly into line of t-storms. Berating publicaly like that is ridiculous.

I got it, everyone started with crap pay from somewhere (I'm no exception) but you guys need to see the forest through the trees, some places just aren't worth it.

What did you get written up for?

I didn't use the military card I said if people want to join they will. I've said that they suck this entire time? When have I ever said that it's a good place to work?

No absolutely not. I did read what you wrote but don't understand when did mx issues come into play? I simply wasn't ever asked to fly something that wasn't unsafe... Flying stuff that might have been a pain in the butt sure.. No autopilot Ect. I'd find it insulting too and if something was broken if write it up.

Now your friend must be talking about a certain do I'm very familiar with and yes he is a very unprofessional dbag of all sorts. I can't say he ever really put me on blast or sent emails about me.. He absolutely hated me no doubt and was glad to see me leave I'm sure. I just never really dealt with their nonsense. They would write me up and I just wouldn't sign it or email back to him. Really he was in Florida and I just ignored him....


No thank god I made it out with no issues I was never scared of being fired so when they huffed and puffed I just sit back I'd write up anything or delay any flight if I didn't feel comfortable. They'd be pissed but they needed pilots so desperately there was literally nothing they could do.
 
I started this post in hopes of getting some insight about the company. I got a lot more responses than i expected and for that i am greatful. I am a low time pilot (315 tt, 124 multi) and as i have stated in pervious post i am out of money for my cfi. So i am looking into anything possible and trying to keep an open mind for different opportunities.

Do i want to work for a company that could potentially ruin my career and everything I have worked hard to earn, absolutely not, but for you negative nancy's that keep bashing Hana montana for him sharing his experience with the company need to lay off. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but why bash someone for trying to give insight?
Anyways, i really appreciate all the replies from everyone..even the couple of smart alecks on here

I used mx write ups bc that's just one of the issues my friend had there and he was given a hard time about. Thats a big red flag to me. If cemeteries could talk they 'd be full of warnings about stuff like this. I also edited the post after you quoted as well after I reread what you typed.

@Travis John if you look through the thread some immature things were thrown both ways, none by me.

Most of us are just trying to point out that this place has a bad rep for a reason. I understand your situation financially, but be careful, places like this prey on guys like you and it's not worth it. They push you to go when it's unsafe and threaten to fire you if you don't. Maybe you go and you slide one by, but eventually you'll get a violation or worse. Then after it's too late you'll realize your screwed. Think of all the money you've already invested, other opportunities will present themselves, it's a pilot 's market.

Apply elsewhere, I've heard of some flight schools financing and even paying for a portion of your CFI if you'll commit until you get your 1500 hours. Might be a better option.

I understand and hear loud and clear what everyone is saying about the company. I know im preaching to the choir, but it really frustrating that we as pilots spends thousands and thousands of dollars to get our ratings, but then its still not enough. With the 1500 hour rule in effect its killing me as well as other pilots. If i could just get to 500 im sure a lot more opportunities would come up, but at this point, its getting there thats the problem. Im not going to sell myself short by working for a company who's number one concern isnt safety.

Ive looked into Mokulele Air in Hawaii, but i can not find where or how to apply..

You're absolutely right and I'm not denying your friend went through these issues. After working there for that long I don't disagree with you at all I could easily see this stuff happening there it just never really happened to me that's all.

I can be immature at times no doubt and wasn't trying to piss people off.

He's absolutely right if you can avoid working there do it but if you can't than watch your back. Fly safe and get out ASAP. There's tons of companies that'll take advantage of low time guys and gals. MA is a great place to work from what I've heard.... Had a few friends go there when pw went under in Hawaii.
