Well, just concluded another great camping trip with my girlfriend. We flew from Orange County (KSNA) to Oceano (L52). Weather was going to be the issue with the coast pretty socked in but we were able to get in and out of both airports without to much trouble. Few quick updates before the pictures. The fish and chips place is closed. The campground next to the airport is really nice. Showers only take quarters so be prepared. All the restaurants are "OK". I wouldn't say any of them were great. They have bicycles available on a donation basis. They were very helpful. And now the pictures.

Flight there was pretty unremarkable, but you can never have too many shots of LAX.
Almost thought we were not going to get in but realized that the airport was just the other side of the cloud bank.
For those that don't know Oceano is right next to Pismo Beach. You can drive and 4 wheel right on the beach and in the dunes. The beach was packed!
We have a short final picture of every runway my girlfriend and I fly into. She is taking the pictures I am busy flying.
There are skydiving operations near the beach so use caution.
One of the local restuarants, the Rock and Roll Diner. Food was just ok and service was not spectacular. We also tried Juans and the little burger place on Pier St. None of them were spectacular but it was food and close to the airport.
My girlfriend and our little piece of land. Camping was great. Firewood on sight and not very busy.
One of the hangers on the airport. I want my own pirate's lair.
A quick shot of the traffic on the beach. It was crazy there was several $100,000 rigs that must have weighed 30,000lbs just cruising through the sand. Several got stuck while we were there.
So someone (Me) might have gotten the bright idea to rent a dune buggy.
First don't bring your nice new expensive camera. Second your girlfriend will not find it funny when you both get a sand shower by hitting the lip of the dune. Third your girlfriend is going to get mad at you, because it was your stupid idea and now you are stuck in a dune in the middle of nowhere.
Shortly after this my camera stopped working due to sand. It is better now but I think next time we will skip the dune buggy ride.
Definitely recommend the trip and thanks for reading.
