Calvin and Hobbs

Thank goodness. I was so afraid after seeing the thread title I'd open it to find a bunch people asking what Calvin and Hobbes was.

The one where they start the gross club.

The best. Not the chasmosaur silhouettes beneath the canopy.

Few years ago my daughters gave me the 3 volume collection. AWESOME. Along with The Far Side, set new levels for creativity and content.

That has to be one of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes strips ever.

Dinosaurs AND airplanes in the same comic. Seriously, what more could a person want?

I miss Calvin and Hobbs too.

Gotta say that Calvin and Hobbs set a high bar for imagination and art in comics. Lots of subtle detail in the art and in the humor. Waterson's stuff is timeless and I love just looking at them. There are few strips today that compare.

We have many of the books and my kids LOVE them; even though he stopped making them before any of them were born. My 6 year old can't read much yet, but thumbs through them just to find the dinosaur pictures.

I still get the Sunday paper and usually the first thing I go for is the comics.

Dasleben, I'll give you another to find . . .

There is a similar one, in color, where he asks his dad where the sun goes at night. (Apparently it is somewhere near Phoenix. :laff:)

:)

Actually, finding these is pretty easy. Won't give away the secret, though. ;)
