Favorite airplane, favorite livery. Did a lot of SFO-DEN-MSP and back on those things growing up. :)

At one point, UA was talking to its employees about 3 retrojets, a 747-400 in those colors, a 767-300 that would stay in the grey colors, and a 777-200 that would get the "Stars and Bars" livery. That plan was narrowed down to one retro livery to be painted onto a 757-200 and the UA and UAX employees were left to vote on all the various schemes UA has worn since the 30s. I voted for the livery above, but the "Stars and Bars" won. Employees at many UA stations that would never see a 757 whined enough about it that an A320 ended up getting the livery so that "the majority of stations would see the airplane". Oh well, I like it!

The United livery always brings back great memories of going to the airport to pick my father up when I was a kid. Oh and the fishscale silverware.

I think memories are a big part of it. I miss being able to go through security to meet your loved one at the gate, or just to watch airplanes. I remember taking a friend to STL to catch a flight, and then walking around the terminal after her flight left. Met a Delta captain getting ready to take a DC-9 to ATL, and chatted for a few minutes. I remember looking out the window at the plane, with the old Delta colors. I love airports at night. Something about those blue taxi lights. :)

I kind of liked some of NWA's liveries. Hopefullt Mr. Griswald would enlighten us on which one looks like a bowling shoe.
