Weather was absolutly perfect this weekend... clear skies and 75 degrees. If you gotta work weekends, this is how to do it.

This is perfect, because I'm going to Cairo next week.

Would you mind suggesting a good, approximate itinerary for a two day stay there? I've already done my homework but I'd like to year any additional input from people, especially from someone who's been there just days before me.

The view from the tower looks great at dusk. How much did the dinner cruise cost?

There are tour companies that offer some good deals, but for about $50 you can get a driver and a car for the entire day (I do this and arrange it through the hotel). If you start at 9am (when Giza opens) you can do the pyramids/sphinx, Memphis & Sakkara , plus a stop for lunch and be done by 5-6pm. The light show at the sphinx is pretty cool too.

The museum is a must see as well and that takes about 3 hours to get through. I'd suggest a trip to the market and a visit to the city of the dead on this day as well. Cairo tower offers a nice view and can be done in less than 30 minutes but they do have a restaurant on the top which makes for a good view for dinner.

The dinner cruise was $40/person.
 
Hey FlyingSig-

Since you've done quite a bit more four man flying than I, I have a 30 hour in TLV coming up. Already did the Jerusalem and Bethlehem tours. Besides making it a "$2 dollar layover" and trawling the hospitality room, any suggestions? I figured I'd go out and explore town a little, perhaps even solo if the crew turns out to be sticks in the mud.

If you can get some people to go with you, then Masada is the "next" tour to book. It's usually done in combo with the dead sea.

Got any gouge on Berlin? Going there this weekend and while I did my very first TOE there a few years ago, I haven't been there since and have 48 to explore (and drink) (and explore)....
