CAE Simuflite

"Killer".....I kinda like that. Maybe it'll stick. Hell, I've only been around here for about 5 years and don't have a nickname yet.

I know you weren't fighting and never implied that you were. I simply and calmly said, "who cares." I guess it was a rhetorical question.

Hey....I even prefaced my statement with, "No offense....":buck:

How about "FL490" for a nickname. The avatar is sweet, very impressive. What fuel burn and mach number did you see up there?

Yeah...it's rather interesting. Not something I do on a regular basis. I was burnin' about 850 lbs./hour total and cruisin' at M0.78; temperature was pretty steady at ISA-6.

What is your lear certified up to? FL510?

Highest I've been is FL450, burning about 700 pph at .73, pretty cool and doesn't actually feel like you're that high.

Btw, it was good to see you at APA.

Yeah, FL510.

It was good to meet you man. I'll look forward to the next time we cross paths. Hopefully we'll have more than 30 seconds to chat next time. Peace, and Merry Christmas.:)

Poe,

I have seen a few people do it but it seems to be slow to take since the plane has been around since the 60's. Its like trying to redesignate a Cessna 500 series like a P500 or something...its going to take a while.

I think everyone just kinda keeps it the same way since "thats the way it has been" People that have flown falcons dont want to change from a DA to an FA.

No nickname after 5 years!?! Thats about the time you are allowed to give yourself one. (And the FL490 avatar is pretty cool.)

Yeah I saw the "No offense....", I guess mine should have been....
<< Easy there, killer :sarcasm: >>

Thats the way I'm seeing it Casper, kind of a "first-come, first-served / we're stuck in our ways" thing. I'm gonna try to find out how it all works (who decids who gets what designator) when I get some free time (and I'm bored) next year.

Have a great last 4 days of 2005 and an even better 2006!!!

Simuflite

To come back to the subject...
I've just finished a recurrent at simuflite, the SIC program is a great idea..
I wish i knew about it a couple years ago !
Just to clarify tho.. I believe this isn't a "job" as you are not getting paid :(
You might want to check with the Simuflite people.

The good thing about isn't so much the experience you will get (although not negligable) but the people you will meet (pilots, chief pilots, instructors...etc from every corporate/fractional/whatever in the world !!!).
It's all about networking :)

Those guys will have you in the right seat when they don't come with a partner and you will be so good at it ... it's a good way to get an interview !
And the best ... the sim part of your interview is done :p
Definitly check it out

Yeah I totally agree with you on that (since its really volunteer) but they call it that simply because I don't think they have a better name for it (like internship, "work" study, etc.)

The sim time is great though because you get to experience almost all the "typical" emergency situtations (at least the ones the sim can recreate).

The networking part is one of the main reasons I would tell someone to do it, its like you're standing at a job fair and people are coming up to you (and you're right, the flight/sim check ride is already done:) ).
