C-Series Flyover

Embraer really screwed the pooch with that MTOW.

The unions will either have to give scope relief (very unlikely), they'll have to make a model that is limited to the max scope will allow (maybe), or they'll have to keep making the old model, because the new one isn't selling (most likely IMO).

I watched one fly over my house a few times this past week. I guess it's doing steep approach landing testing at KIWA, according to the FBO.

I think it's doing okay sales in Europe and Asia. But the U.S. is the biggest world market. They finally wrested the crown from Bombardier, I'd also think that they'd want to do something, anything to maintain their lead. Keeping the current model would greatly put them in a distant second I'd assume against Bomba's newer C-Series tech. A redesign with lower MTOW would take time to develop and test. I don't really know where Embraer of Mitsubishi plan to go, unless mainline. But will mainline again raise their nose at the stench of flying what is erroneously assumed to be nothing more than a large super RJ due mainly to the name of the manufacturer?

You do know we're replacing the mad dog with the C-series, yes?

Of course I know. Do you even know me bro, have we met before? My name is Matthew, btw. :D

Seriously though, what I meant was that besides DL there seems to be no real takers for "large" RJ's at the big leagues for different reasons/perceptions. Maybe hopefully with DL's order that will change in the future. I keep reading UA pilots worry/hang up/hesitation about the jet is that if mainline orders the plane. It automatically triggers the contracts ability for management to order more 76 seat jets for the minor leagues.
