C-5 Dover crash video....

I think it is unfortunate that the video went public. The intention of it is to learn from the mishap...not broadcast it to all the world. I would hate to know that I may one day make a mistake during flight (I know, I would never make a mistake) and have every fool in the world hear and see what you did thanks to the internet.

If the intention of the video is to learn from the mishap, then would it not serve that purpose by having people actually "watch" the video??

It's sad to see FRED in that condition. I looked through my logbooks and I actually have about 50 hours in that airplane. I'm just glad everyone lived.

I don't have any issue in regards to learning from the mishap. My heartburn is that the information is for in-house use only; i.e. The Air Force. I understand that there isn't a provision in my instructions (Air Force instructions, that is) safeguarding information on the CVR, but I don't like the idea that someone realeases information that THEY KNEW was not for public release. If you were on the crew of a B1900 and you had reasonable expectations that the CVR communication would NOT be posted on Youtube, yet it made it on there ANYWAY, how would you feel? :banghead:

yeah, its sad hearing that. I just flew with the crew chief who was on it and helped pull some of the pilots out. I had one of the best trips of my life on that plane out to Iceland and a few other stops.
